Bible Verses Against Poverty
As children of God, we were never meant to live in poverty or constant struggle. God is a good Father. He cares deeply about every part of our lives—our health, our peace, and yes, even our finances. From the very beginning, He gave us everything we need to succeed. He placed gifts, talents, ideas, and opportunities inside us. He gave us His Word, His Spirit, and His promises.
Poverty is not part of our spiritual inheritance. Struggling endlessly just to survive is not God’s plan for His children. He wants us to live with joy, with peace of mind, and with more than enough to meet our needs—and to help others too.
God is not glorified when His children are stuck in lack. He is glorified when we rise, when we grow, when we use what He gave us to live a full and meaningful life. That doesn’t mean life will always be easy. But it does mean we don’t have to stay down. We have His strength. We have His favor. We have His help.
You are not forgotten. You are not meant to be poor. You are loved, chosen, and equipped. God has given you everything you need to move forward and to flourish.

What Does The Bible Say About The Poor
The Bible speaks a lot about the poor, and it does so with deep compassion and care. God has a tender heart for those who are struggling. He doesn’t ignore the poor. He sees them, defends them, and commands His people to do the same.
In fact, God often measures the sincerity of our faith by how we treat the poor. He doesn’t see poverty as shameful. He sees it as an opportunity for His people to show love, mercy, and justice.
One powerful verse that shows this is Proverbs 14:31, which says, “Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” That means when we help someone in need, we’re not just doing charity—we’re honoring God Himself.
And also in Psalm 41:1, which says: “Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble.” So, the Bible doesn’t just ask us to care about the poor—it promises that when we do, God will take care of us in return.
In short, the Bible shows that the poor are not forgotten by God. They are precious to Him, and He wants us to love them the way He does.

Summary
The Bible makes it clear that God does not forget the poor. He sees them, hears their cries, and cares deeply about their struggles. He calls us, as His people, to do the same. Helping the poor is not just a good deed, it’s an act of worship. It’s how we show the heart of God to a hurting world.
As Proverbs 14:31 tells us that Whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” And Psalm 41:1 also promises that “The Lord rescues those who are kind to the poor.”
So let us be people who don’t walk past poverty, but respond with compassion. Let us give, serve, lift others up, and reflect the love of Christ in everything we do. Because when we care for the poor, we’re not just changing their lives. We’re honoring the very heart of God.
